Camino de Santiago

Day 1 From Biarritz. Coach to Roncesvalles in the Pyrenees, for our first walk on the Camino to Espinal. Drive to Pamplona and check into Hotel for 1 night, dinner, bed & breakfast. Todays walk: 7 km (subject to amendment). Day 2 Transfer to Zariquiegui and walk to Obanos. Drive to Estella, walk via the free flowing wine fountain, to Irache. Drive to Santo Domingo and visit the Cathedral to hear the legend of the roasted cock. Walk to Granon. Drive to Burgos for overnight, dinner, bed & breakfast. Todays walk: 18 km. Day 3 Visit Burgos Cathedral and see the tomb of El Cid, the Golden Stairs, and the Flexible Crucifix. Drive to Boadilla and walk by the canal to Fromista. Drive to Ledigos and walk to Sahagun. Coach to Leon for 1 night, dinner, bed & breakfast. Todays walk: 20 km. Day 4 Coach to Foncebadon for a beautiful mountain walk to Cruz de Hierro and conform with tradition. Continue walk to El Acebo. Drive to OCebreiro. Visit the church of the Eucharistic Miracle and nearby see the old thatched Pallozas. Walk from Alto San Roque to Fonfria. Drive via Samos, Sarria, and Portomarine to the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela for dinner, bed & breakfast. Todays walk: 16 km Day 5 Walk from Arca to Lavacolla for traditional washing in the River Lavacolla. Here we taste the famous Tarte de Santiago, the local wines, and confectionery. Continue to Santiago de Compostela and our goal, the Cathedral of St. James. Visit the Cathedral, see the Portico of Glory, the Jessi Tree, Master Mateo, embrace the statue of St. James and visit his Tomb under the high altar. Todays walk: 19 km. Day 6 Morning free in Santiago de Compostela. 12 noon attend the Pilgrims Mass in the Cathedral. 13.00hrs departure for Santiago airport.
