Holy Land

Day 1 Thursday, November 1

Evening departure from Boston Logan airport on El Al flight direct to Tel Aviv.

Day 2 Friday, November 2

Arrive in Ben Gurion International Airport - Tel Aviv and meet the guide and coach for a transfer to the Manger Square Hotel, just a minutes walk from the birth place of Jesus in Bethlehem, here we will stay for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner.

Day 3 Saturday, November 3

After breakfast we enjoy a full day in Bethlehem. Visit the Church of the Nativity and see the birthplace of Jesus and the Holy Manger. See the Churches of St Catherine, St Jerome, St Joseph, and the Holy Innocents. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon visit the lovely Milk Grotto, and the Shepherds Fields. Dinner at hotel.

Day 4 Sunday, November 4

Morning drive by the Inn of the Good Samaritan, to the Dead Sea. Time to relax or float on the water near where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found at Qumran. Continue to Masada and ascend by cable-car to Herods Fort. Break for lunch. Afternoon drive into Jericho, see the Mount of Temptation, and the Sycamore tree of Zacchaeus. Drive along the Jordan Valley to Nazareth, and stay at the Royal Plaza Hotel for 4 nights with dinner and breakfast.

Day 5 Monday, November 5

Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes for reading of the great Sermon on the Mount. Boat trip across the Sea of Galilee with relevant Bible readings. Stop for a lunch of St Peters Fish on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Afternoon drive to Capernaum to visit the old Synagogue and see the excavations of Peters house. Nearby, visit the church of the Primacy by the sea-shore, and the site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish at Tabgha. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 6 Tuesday, November 6

Depart for Cana and visit the church of the Wedding Feast site of Jesus first miracle. Renewal of Wedding Vows for married couples on the trip. Continue to Nazareth. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, see the Cavehome of the Holy Family, Josephs workshop, and Marys Well. Lunch. Afternoon drive to Haifa, see the beautiful Bahai Gardens, and visit the Carmelite church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 7 Wednesday, November 7

Morning drive to Mount Tabor. Ascend by taxi to the Church of the Transfiguration, where we celebrate Mass, and view the Valley of Armageddon. Continue to Yardinet at the River Jordan, for renewal of our Baptismal Vows. (Lunch own arrangement). Afternoon free in Tiberias, or visit the Caprice Diamond Factory. Dinner at hotel.

Day 8 Thursday, November 8

Drive across the Jezreel Valley to Emmaus, where Jesus appeared after His Resurrection. Continue to Bethany and visit the Tomb of Lazarus. Drive into Jerusalem and check into the Jerusalem Gold Hotel for 4 nights with dinner & breakfast. Day 9 Friday, November 9 Drive to the Mount of Olives for group photo, and view the Old City. Visit the Ascension Dome, Pater Noster church, Dominus Flevit, Assumption church and Grotto and the Garden of Gethsemane. After lunch, visit church of St Peter in Gallicantu church of the Cock-Crow, and see the dungeon where Jesus was held on Holy Thursday night. Walk around Mount Zion and visit the church of the Dormition, Tomb of David, and Room of the Last Supper. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 10 Saturday, November 10

Early morning Mass in the Holy Sepulchre. Return to hotel for breakfast. Morning in the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit church of St Anne and Pool of Bethesda. Walk the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Rock of Calvary. Visit the Western Wall. Lunch. Afternoon free in Jerusalem. Evening Holy Hour in the Garden of Gethsemane. Dinner at hotel.

Day 11 Sunday, November 11

Morning drive to Ein Karem to visit the church of the Visitation, and church of St John the Baptist. Visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. After lunch, visit the Model of Old Jerusalem, and Shrine of the Book. Continue to Nebi Samwil and visit the tomb of Samuel the prophet. Return to hotel for final dinner.

Day 12 Monday, November 12

After leisurely breakfast, drive to Jaffa,where we see the home of Simon the Tanner, and celebrate Mass in the Franciscan church of St Peter. Free afternoon in Tel Aviv stroll along the beautiful promenade and Mediterranean beach, or do some last minute shopping. Evening transfer to Tel Aviv airport and check-in for El Al direct flight, arriving back in Boston the early the following day.
