Day 1 Sunday, 22 April
Check-in at Boston Logan for overnight flight to Dublin
Day 2 Monday, 23 April
On arrival at Dublin airport we meet our coach driver & guide, and take our coach to the medieval town of Kilkenny. On arrival we will check into our hotel. After a quick rest we will have an afternoon visit to the magnificent 13th century Kilkenny Castle, seat of the Butler family, Earls & Dukes of Ormonde. Nearby, visit the Kilkenny Design Workshops, an exhibition of Irish Design, located in the old castle stables. Enjoy our first dinner back at our hotel where
we will retire for the night.
Day 3 Tuesday, 24 April
After breakfast in the hotel we will have a morning drive to Cashel and see the impressive Rock of Cashel seat of the Kings of Munster, visited by St. Patrick in A.D. 450. Hear the story of the "Devils Bit" and see the wall tomb of Archbishop Myler McGrath. Re-board our coach and continue via Cork City to Blarney. Climb the Castle and kiss the famous Blarney Stone to receive the gift of eloquence. With our new found eloquence we visit the Blarney Woollen Mills and
visit the Holy Well of St Gobnait (6th cent) at Ballyvourney. Arrive in Killarney and check into hotel for 2 nights with dinner and breakfast.
Day 4 Wednesday, 25 April
Day tour of the Ring of Kerry, visiting the Gap of Dunloe, Killorglin famous for its annual Puck Fair, Glenbeigh, Caherciveen, Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem and Molls Gap. Jaunting cart ride back into Killarney from Torc Waterfall.
Day 5 Thursday, 26 April
Drive via Tralee (hear the story of the original Rose), to Tarbert and the short ferry across the River Shannon to Killimer. Continue to the magnificent Cliffs of Moher, towering 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, and walk to O'Briens Tower. Drive through Ennis to Shannon and check into hotel for 1 night and breakfast. This evening we visit the Bunratty Folk Park, and enjoy a Medieval Banquet with traditional entertainment in Bunratty Castle.
Day 6 Friday, 27 April
After breakfast drive to Galway city where we see the Cathedral, Salmon Weir, and the Spanish Arch. Continue to the pretty village of Cong, where "The Quiet Man" was filmed, and visit the museum. Drive to Knock, and check into hotel for 1 night with dinner & breakfast. Enjoy the afternoon in Knock for guided tour of Ireland's premier Marian Shrine, where an Apparition occurred on August 21st 1879 at the gable wall of the parish church.
Day 7 Saturday, 28 April
Depart for Sligo after breakfast and visit the grave of W B Yeats in Drumcliffe. Drive via Bundoran to Lough Derg St Patrick's Purgatory. Weather permitting, we take the half-mile boat journey to the island and take part in some of the traditional services. Continue to Derry, on the banks of the Foyle, for overnight with dinner and breakfast.
Day 8 Sunday, 29 April
Today we go to visit the Giants Causeway on the Antrim coast. This amazing rock formation is due to the cooling of the lava, resulting in the splitting of the basaltic rock into mostly hexagonal columns. Nearby, we visit Old Bushmills Distillery and sample the product. Continue to Belfast for a city sightseeing tour including City Hall, Linenhall Library, Queens University, and Stormont Parliament Building. In St Patrick's Parish Church we venerate a Relic of St Patrick's Arm. Check into hotel for 2 nights with dinner and breakfast.
Day 9 Monday, 30 April
Morning visit to the popular attraction "The Titanic Centre". The Titanic Experience extends over 9 interactive galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition, drawing together effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features. Explore the shipyard, travel to the depths of the ocean, and uncover the true legend of Titanic in the city where it all began. Enjoy a free afternoon in Belfast.
Day 10 Tuesday, 1 May
Drive to Killyleagh, see Mary's Stile below the Castle, and hear the story of the Irish Emigrant. Enter the visitor centre in Downpatrick and visit the Grave of St Patrick Ireland's Patron Saint. "In Down, one grave three Saints
do fill, Patrick, Bridget and Colmcille" Enjoy a scenic tour through the Mountains of Moran to Faughart and visit Saint Bridget's Holy Well. In Drogheda we visit the parish church of St Peter, and see the preserved Head of St Oliver Plunkett. Evening arrival in Dublin, for 2 nights with breakfast. Dinner at hotel this evening.
Day 11 Wednesday, 2 May
Morning panoramic city sightseeing tour including O'Connell Street with the Millennium Spire and the historic GPO, Abbey Theatre, Customs House, Trinity College, Leinster House seat of the Irish Government,Georgian Squares, Ballsbridge Showgrounds, City Hall, Dublin Castle, Christchurch & St Patrick's Cathedrals, Guinness' Brewery, Kilmainham Jail, and the Phoenix Park. Afternoon free or, option to visit the Guinness Storehouse or Trinity College Library. We celebrate our final evening at a dinner-cabaret show.
Day 12 Thursday, 3 May
Transfer to Dublin airport for return flight to Boston.
