Upon arrival into Dublin you will be greeted with "Cad Mle Filte" - a hundred thousand welcomes - from our very own Marian Pilgrimages office located in Dublin city centre. Your tour guide and driver will show you to your coach and we will have a panoramic city tour of Dublin where we will pass by the GPO on OConnell Street, a strong hold during the 1916 rising, Dail Eireann, Georgian Squares, City Hall, Dublin Castle, Christchurch & St Patricks Cathedrals, Kilmainham Jail and Phoenix Park. You will then be taken to your Hotel to check in for 5 nights. Here we will have a quick rest before making our way to one of the opening ceremonies taking part across the whole island of Ireland.

In his Letter of Convocation for World Meeting of Families 2018, Pope Francis asked that the event and its preparation would give families the opportunity 'to have a way of deepening their reflection and their sharing of the content of the post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation The Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia)'.The programme of the three-day Pastoral Congress for WMOF2018, from 22nd to 24th August, takes up this call. In an exciting series of major panels, workshops, keynote speakers, testimonies and activities, each day of the Pastoral Congress will explore themes from The Joy of Love
Saturday, 25 August
After breakfast at our hotel we will take a morning visit to Trinity College, Irelands oldest university to see the famous Book of Kells a 9th century manuscript containing a richly decorated copy of the four gospels in a latin text, produced by the monks at St. Columcilles Monastery, on the remote island of Iona. Afterwards we will make our way to one of the most significant and beautiful events within every World Meeting of Families is the Festival of Families. This concerttype event will take place in a large venue in Dublin on the evening of the 25th August 2018. It is a celebration of family life around the world that will feature musical and dance performances, as well as five selected families from around the world giving witness to their familys faith.
Sunday, 26 August
The World Meeting of Families concludes with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration that will gather individuals and families from all around the world in thanksgiving and communion. The Mass will mark the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families 2018 in Dublin and the next diocese to host the event in conjunction with the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life will be announced. Subject to confirmation, the main celebrant for the Final Mass will be Pope Francis
should he be able to attend WMOF2018. The Holy Father has said that it is his intention to come to Ireland for WMOF2018, but this is still to be confirmed by the Holy See.This evening we will enjoy a Banquet with Irish music and entertainment with our fellow pilgrims.
