Day 1 Tuesday, January 11th
Morning check-in at Boston airport for United Airlines flight to Mexico City. On
arrival we will collect our luggage then meet our guide in arrivals where we will be
brought to our coach. The group will leave the airport and continue to our four star
Hotel Punto Mx in the historic center of Mexico City for 7 nights, with dinner &
breakfast included.
Day 2 Wednesday, January 12th
This morning we walk through the Hispanic Plaza of the Three Cultures and visit the
Church of Santiago where Juan Diego was Baptized. Continue to the shrine of Our
Lady of Guadalupe, where we remember the apparitions to St. Juan Diego, and see
the Tilma cloak of Juan Diego with the miraculous image of Our Lady. Visit the
New and the Old Basilicas, and the Museum.
Day 3 Thursday, January 13th
Full day in Mexico City. Visit Holy Family Church and see the tomb of Fr Miguel
Agustin, a JesuitMartyr, and visitthe small museum. VisittheMetropolitalCathedral,
the oldest and largest in Latin America, where you will enjoy the architecture,
paintings and statues. We visit the extraordinary National Palace and enjoy the
Murals. At the Plaza of Santo Domingo, we visit the shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary,
and the church of Santo Domingo. Before returning to our hotel for dinner, we visit
the shrine of Our Lady of Covadonga.
Day 4 Friday, January 14th
A spectacular drive to Mexicos most beautiful city Puebla, 10,000 feet above sea
level. Here, we can view two magnificent peaks, one, an active volcano, and the other
covered in snow. We visit the Cathedral, St. Dominics church, chapel of Our Lady of
the Rosary, and in the church of St Francis of Assisi we see the in-corrupt body of St
Sebastian of Aparicido. Return to hotel for dinner.
Day 5 Saturday, January 15th
Morning tour to the Pre-Hispanic city of Teotihuacan a vast archaeological
complex, where we see the Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon, Temple of the
Feathered Serpent, the Ciudadela (old market place)with the Temple of Quetzalcoatl,
and connecting them all, is the Avenue of the Dead. Visit the on-site Museum of
Teotihuacan Culture.
Day 6 Sunday, January 16th
Morning visit to Tulpetlac where Our Lady appeared to Juan Diegos Uncle. Here, we
find a Well of Healing. Return for a final visit to the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Afternoon free.
Day 7 Monday, January 17th
After breakfast we will take a visit to the museum of anthropology in Mexico City.
The museum contains significant archaeological and anthropological artefacts from
Mexicos pre-Columbian heritage, such as the stone of the sun (or the Aztec calendar
stone) and the Aztec Xochipilli statue. After lunch we will have some free time in
Mexico city to explore or head bac to the hotel for some rest before dinner.
Day 8 Tuesday, January 18th
Morning free in Mexico City before we depart from hotel and transfer to Mexico
airport to check-in for United Airlines flight to Boston.
